About HGOI

On a site that has been the home to shipbuilding and ship repair for over 200 years, Harbour Grace Ocean Industries Ltd. is proud to carry on with the strong marine traditions of Newfoundland’s ocean history.

Inheriting a business that has been very stable over the past several decades, HGOE envisions a future with tremendous potential. To take advantage of the potential opportunities, HGOE is investing heavily in its people and facilities with a lean shop floor, a focus on health and safety and a commitment to training. An additional investment in new equipment, new software and technology, and building renovations demonstrate our commitment to operate a modern and efficient enterprise.

Think International

  • Located in the far east of North America, the closest northeasterly point to Europe; located on the world trade routes of the north Atlantic – both air and marine.
  • Able to service the eastern seaboard of the USA and Canada as far north as Nunavut, Greenland and the Northwest Passage.
  • We occupy 4.5 acres of engineered ground and wharfs with the capability to lift 330 tons with our travelift.
  • Future plans include infrastructure that will allow us to increase our dry-docking capabilities.
